Happy Easter!

I had planned to take the boys to Yorktown to visit for Hunter's birthday, but unfortunately Honey was sick and we thought it best to stay home. The back-up plan was to take the boys for a few days before Easter since Barrett didn't have school on Good Friday. Roger stayed home since he had to start a new rotation at the VA, but we would be back home for Easter Sunday to spend some time with Daddy.

We kept ourselves pretty busy while we were at Honey and Dude's house. First, the boys got to see a new baby calf and pet him! The mommy was very laid-back and didn't seem to mind at all. The calf is named Rocky Balboa because he had a bit of a swollen eye like he had been boxing. I cannot believe this baby let the boys pet him!

Here is Barrett petting Rocky. He is such an animal lover!

Barrett even gave Rocky a kiss on the head. I think Rocky was trying to kiss him back!

Hunter even got to pet him with some help from Mommy.

We also got to spend some time riding on the golf cart, playing on the playground, visiting with family, making lots of messes, and eating a ton of yummy food. The Easter bunny even made a stop while we were there and brought the boys all kinds of fun things in their Easter nest. The last morning of our stay, the boys got to hunt for eggs. Barrett is an old pro now and spent most of his time opening up the eggs to find the candy. Hunter didn't take too long to figure it out...he was an "eggspert" by the end of it! (haha)

Barrett still in his jammies ready to hunt eggs with his new Easter basket.

Hunter found some too! He even put them in his basket with some help from Dude.

We were back home for Easter morning. We started off by finding the boys' Easter baskets that the Easter bunny left for them. The boys loved looking at their new toys, reading their new Easter books, and trying to sneak some candy before breakfast.

We ate, got ready, and went to church to meet our friends the Whitesides! We took the opportunity to get a family picture. I think it is getting more and more difficult to get a picture with all 4 of us, especially one with all 4 looking at the camera. Barrett insisted on wearing his bright blue Lightning McQueen socks.
After church, we came home for some lunch and a nap. The Easter bunny came back during naptime and hid eggs in the backyard for the boys to find. Barrett loved finding the eggs, and once again, he opened them all to see what goodies were inside. Hunter wasn't quite that interested today. He mostly just played with the backyard toys and managed to grab only one egg.
After some messy fun in the sandbox, Barrett and Daddy decided it would be a great time to try out the new kite Barrett got from the Easter bunny. They had a great time together! We had such a wonderful Easter!

Barrett flying his kite. He kept talking about a "kite festival"...who knows where he got that from!

So fun!
