Daddy even let Barrett help with the actual carving this year! He wanted to do it by himself so badly!

Just a little help from Daddy was needed. Hunter wasn't into the carving this year, but I'm sure next year he will get to help out too!

The finished product! Barrett drew the nose squiggly like that, so that is how Roger carved it! Please notice how intricately done the carving is. Just think friends, you too could have Roger's surgical handiwork on your body someday! hee hee

Roger was on call Saturday, so the boys and I kept busy by going to 2 different Halloween festivals! The first one was the pumpkin chunkin festival! It was held at Mason's school. We met up with the LeRouaxs and the Schroeders (who I didn't get pictures of...) for some fun! The first thing we did was to watch the giant trebuchet launch the pumpkins. The boys were mesmerized. :) Here are Hunter, Mason, and Barrett.

Next it was time for some games! Hunter made a bee-line for the lollipop pull. :)

Hunter and Barrett also dug in the sand for buried treasure. Notice Hunter's blue lips. I bet you can guess which flavor lollipop he picked ;)

Barrett had some fun at the bean bag toss. He got 4 out of 6 bean bags through the holes!

While we were there, we also went for a train ride but I didn't get any pictures of it.
After heading home for lunch and naps, we then got ready for festival #2! This one was held at the boys' school, and they were able to wear their costumes and so a little trick or treating at the classrooms. We met up with the LeRouaxs again and also our buddies the Rutledges.
Here are Spiderman and Mickey Mouse!

Mickey ready to play some games

Seriously, how adorable is this?!?!? Emily gets full credit for this idea. Samantha was going to be Minnie, and since I had no earthly idea what H should be for Halloween, Em suggested Mickey. Too cute! We got so many compliments on their costumes and everyone thought they were just precious! This picture is definitely a keeper for their wedding slideshow someday.
Here are all the big brothers: Spiderman (Barrett), Bob the Builder (Robert), and Buzz Lightyear (Mason). They were ready to get some candy!

Sunday was another busy day! We had church in the morning and had planned on staying for our church's "trunk or treating," but the boys were tired and cranky so we just came home. That afternoon we went to the Rutledges' house for a wonderful Halloween party! I didn't get pictures of it...ug. We all had a blast! Then it was time to head home for a quick dinner and trick or treating again!
Roger took the boys out while I stayed home to pass out candy. Here is Spiderman, ready to trick or treat with Daddy!

Mickey minus his ears.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!
Still can't get over how cute Hunter and Samantha were! And that comment about Roger's surgical skills on the pumpkin was funny!
ReplyDeleteI loved Roger's surgical carving skills last year, and was excited to see more this year!!
