We were very lucky at the Smith house because Roger had 4 days off starting on Christmas Eve! We were so excited to fill our day with a lot of fun activities to get ready for Santa that night! Barrett and Roger started off by decorating a gingerbread house. I was amazed that Barrett didn't eat too much of the candy, just a few pieces. He was so proud of it when they were finished!

The next job we had to do was to bake some cookies for Santa! Barrett loves to help me in the kitchen, so we got busy! He helped me measure the ingredients, pour them in the mixing bowl, and turn on the mixer. I think his favorite job of all was the chocolate chip taste-tester. He kept picking them out of the dough!

Caught in the act! He has a huge mouthful of chocolate chips!
We ended our wonderful Christmas Eve by going to our church for worship. The boys behaved very well (with the help of snacks). Barrett enjoyed the candlit "Silent Night," and while we were lighting our candles and the sanctuary lights were dimmed, he said very loudly, "The power went out!" I think the people sitting near us got a kick out of it!
i am soooo happy that roger had some time off to be with his adorable family! that gingerbread house is awesome! can't wait to see you tomorrow!
